Achievements With the increasing demand for ENERGY, effective management and conservation of the same has become the need of the hour. Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) believes in involving the youth, the decision makers of tomorrow, who will play a vital role in not only propagating efficient usage of energy but also furthering the larger cause of educating the society on climate change issues and helping build a greener and safer tomorrow. Recognizing the immense value that schools and schoolchildren can bring to the initiative and taking due consideration of this urgent need, Tata Power started an innovative and interactive conservation program “Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club)”, involving the youths i.e. school children, to propagate efficient usage of energy and to educate the society on climate change issues in 2007. Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) started with a pilot program of educating and sensitizing 12 schools in Mumbai in 2007 and sensitized 6000 students in 12 schools across Mumbai. Encouraged by the initial response, Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) covered 28 schools across Mumbai and Belgaum in 2008. In 2009, Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) became a national movement and covered more than 250 schools across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Belgaum, Jamshedpur and Lonavla on the subject of energy conservation. In 2010, the Club reached out to 285 schools nationwide, sensitised over 11 lakh citizens and saved more than 2.4 million units. It has received over 26,895 Energy Champions, 39,356 Energy Ambassadors and 154 self-sustaining Mini Energy Clubs in 2010. The Club has reached out to 400 schools across India, sensitised more than 2 million citizens, saved more than 3.4 million units, has received more than 40,445 Energy Champions and 70,450 Energy Ambassadors, has more than 154 mini Energy Clubs till date.
Awards and Recognition CMO Asia Award 2011 Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) won the CMO Asia Award for the Best Marketing Campaign 2011. The CMO Asia Awards are first of its kind accolades recognizing Organizations, Chief Marketing Officers, Professors from the Greatest B-Schools of Asia and HR Professionals, who have shown leadership in their respective fields combined with consistent Innovation and Strategic Marketing. The awards are judged by an independent, hi-caliber jury of professionals from across Asia in various categories. The countries which are participating in the CMO Asia Awards are Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey and UAE. The Energy Daily’s 2010 Leadership Awards Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club), Tata Power’s nationwide energy conservation movement led by school children, has been bestowed the ‘Most Innovative Campaign’ award at USA’s The Energy Daily’s 2010 Leadership Awards. Each year, The Energy Daily, with the help of a panel of energy experts, recognizes leaders, influential companies, innovative campaigns and technologies with The Energy Daily’s Leadership Awards. The most innovative campaign award is bestowed to recognize a firm/organization for designing a powerful and successful energy campaign. Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI) Award 2010 Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) was awarded the Gold medal in the Environmental Communication category at the Association of Business Communicators of India Golden Jubilee Annual Awards Nite. Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) was adjudged the winning entry in a category which had entries from several companies across the country. The other category winners were Tata Chemicals Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Larsen & Toubro, Kirloskar Brothers and ACC Limited. The award was presented by Mr. Jitender Bhargava – Former Director Communications, Air India. Siemens Ecovative Award 2010 In 2010, Club Enerji (previously known as Tata Power Energy Club) has also ranked 2nd among 22 participants in Earth Care category for Siemens Ecovative Award 2010. |
